About the Council
Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council employs around 8,000 staff, both full and part time. The council has a net budget of around £156,298m (2009/10) an increase of 3.8% from previous year and serves a population of around 210,000.
The council has a leader and member structure with 63 elected councillors representing 21 wards. Below are the election results:
- Conservative Party : 39 seats
- Labour Party: 19 seats
- Liberal Democrats: 5 seats
